Interactive Board Resources

I stumbled upon this particular link in a listserv message. Craig Nansen is not someone I know. Evidently, he has a great interest in and knowledge of interactive whiteboards. He has saved all of this links related to interactive boards in a Del.icio.us page. (Notice that this "page" goes on for quite a few pages, as the numbers at the bottom of the screen indicate.)

In looking at a few random links, I found anything from interactive activities that can be used in the classroom to blogs about using interactive whiteboards.

I Have a Projector...Now What?

Getting the tools of technology in the classroom is the easy part. It takes dollars. Making the tools of technology integral parts of the classroom is the tougher. It takes time, creativity, and the willingness to step outside of that which is comfortable.

LCD projectors are becoming pretty universal in our school system. Tech and Learning Magazine recently published an article entitled "Ten Ways to Get Beyond PowerPoint with Classroom Projectors." The short article is practical and offers some very doable suggestions.

Interwrite Digital Whiteboard Webinars

Everyone who has an Interwrite digital whiteboard also has Easiteach software. While there are a variety of Easiteach packages available for purchase, the basic software is supplied with your whiteboard.

Interwrite offers a series of free webinars. You can see the schedule by going here. The chances of the webinar you need lining up with your planning time may not work out easily. On the other hand, this schedule runs through June 11, allowing some time once the school year ends when your time may be more flexible.

Online Courses for Professional Development

Principals received an e-mail Wednesday morning regarding "Summer 2009 Semester eLearning Courses." You can register for any of our courses using PDWeb. To see what courses are offered, you can log into the Moodle site as a guest.

The link that was supplied in the e-mail did not work for me. This one did work:

I was successful in accessing the site. From there, I clicked
"Login as a guest" and then "Course Catalog." You can read the course description, and if you see something you wish to take, go to PDWeb, search for the course, and sign up.

All of the courses are free.

Interactive Whiteboard Site

If you have a digital whiteboard of any make (Interwrite, SMART, Promethean) or digital slate, here is a site that provides free resources that will work with any brand of equipment you have. Thanks to Kerry Palmer, principal of Trinity Presbyterian Middle School (Montgomery) for putting me onto this site.

Interwrite Resources

Teachers at each of our schools have Interwrite boards (digital white boards) and/or SchoolPads. This post contains information on resources that are available. While this time of year gets busy for many of us, this post and links to its resources will always be available to you.

Across the state, implementation of this document is mandatory for the coming year. (Normally, implementation of a new Course of Study is optional the first year and mandatory the following year. What are You Reading This Summer?

This five-minute podcast is interesting and well worth the time. Ironically, the book talks begins by talking about RSS. I was guided to this link from e-mail that rolled off my RSS feed this morning.
